COMPANY PROFILE
DHR Heating is essentially me Chris Clark. I have been in the industry at various levels since the late 80s.
Starting out as a pipe fitter welder working on commercial heating systems all over London, the South and the South East. The Old Bailey, Lloyds Clearing House, Hong Kong Bank, Lidl HQ, Siemans and much more. In the mid 90s I became a contracts manager but hated being chained to a desk and decided the only way forward was to start up on my own. Almost immediately I was spotted by Aeroform based in Poole, a specialised company that built Autoclaves, then for around 5 years, 2 or 3 times a year they would pull me in as a subcontractor for a week or two to get the job done. Every job was a mini adventure and they paid well, travelling across Europe to do a week here and there in France, Holland etc plus sites in the UK which included Mclaren F1,Jordan F1, Beneteau F1, Pilkington Glass, Bae Systems and GKN in Cowes. At the same time between contracts I installed domestic and commercial boilers which included installations for Thompson Directories HQ including servicing all their satellite offices, the Metropolitan Police, Siemens again, MOD, amongst others.
In 2003 I became an accredited Worcester Bosch Installer for the Farnborough area in North East Hampshire. At this time it was approximately a 60/40 split between Commercial & Domestic installations with the domestic client base growing as I began to resist the commercial work still being offered in London.
In 2009 I met Douglas Williams whilst sailing in the Solent, a local electrician with a small team of sparks, that like most of us then, were fighting off the ill effects of the recession. Stronger together and we were. We focused on renewable energy and established DJK Renewables Ltd. We continued our partnership up till 2015 when I decided it was time to leave things to Doug. I had already moved to Dorset in 2008 and I was tired of the daily commute. Plus I was also racing my boat out of Cowes which was focusing my attention.
DJK Renewables Ltd still thrives and Dougs boys still install Solar Panels, Ive been known to help out and act as an agent and a subcontractor if and when required. There are approximately 10 Solar PV installations on the Isle of Wight from our heyday. all installed by a team led by myself. From Cowes to Ryde to Whitwell and beyond plus installs as far west as Mullion in Cornwall, the Forest of Dean, Norfolk, Northumberland, Lancashire, Kent, London, Hampshire & Surrey and all over and in-between. Every one a referral
Now it's just me again. With my sailing interests now just for pleasure the focus is solely heating and plumbing, mainly domestic with some commercial, and predominantly just boiler installations and servicing, that said we are happy to do any plumbing services and still do the odd bit of Solar PV and Solar Thermal.
My greatest achievement is I am proud of every job I have done. All done using quality material, designed and installed with thought and care.
